Myrtlewood, Breedlove’s most used tonewood, grows along Oregon’s Pacific coast. It is the ideal blend of the best attributes of rosewood, mahogany and maple by presenting balance across the tonal spectrum.
Visually, the Pursuit Exotic Companion Bourbon CE Myrtlewood – Myrtlewood looks as beautiful as it sounds with its stunning gloss bourbon burst finish on the figured myrtlewood top, back and sides. The African ebony fretboard and bridge not only add to the attractive appearance, but ebony is the preferred tonewood for all performance guitars. Featuring the popular LR Baggs EAS electronic system, it can also be plugged in for amplification.

Tonewood
Myrtlewood offers a strong fundamental with a powerful voice. Grown in the northwest, it is a favorite for many styles of playing and is used primarily for back and sides. Similar to maple, it is clear and bright with superb projection and sustain, and offers a very full and balanced sound. Highly unique, no two sets are alike. Coloration ranges from blonde to taupe.
